Two Cohen & Grigsby Attorneys Elected to Leadership Roles within the Allegheny County Bar Association

PITTSBURGH – June 9, 2015 – Business law firm Cohen & Grigsby is pleased to announce that as of July 1, 2015, two of the firm’s attorneys have been tapped by the Allegheny County Bar Association (ACBA) to serve in leadership roles within the organization:

  • Christie Tillapaugh was elected to serve a three-year term on the ACBA Women in Law Division Council which works to educate members of the bar on the obstacles women face to achieve equality in the legal profession. Tillapaugh is a director in the Business Services Group. She specializes in counseling public and private companies with respect to corporate matters, corporate governance matters, securities law compliance and transactional matters, including lending work on behalf of financial institutions.
  • Katie Jacobs was elected to serve a three-year term on the ACBA Judiciary Committee and as treasurer of the ACBA Homer S. Brown Division (HSBD). The Judiciary Committee seeks candidates to recommend for or appoint to judicial office and the HSBD provides a forum to support the African-American members of the ACBA and the legal community. Jacobs is an associate in the Litigation Group experienced in a wide range of commercial litigation and business matters affecting clients across a number of industries, including real estate, construction, manufacturing, transportation and energy. She has frequently been part of a team representing clients in matters relating to trade secret misappropriations, employment, non-compete agreements and breach of contract.
