Alex is an Associate in the Litigation and Public Affairs Groups. His practice focuses on commercial litigation, land use applications and public election law.

Alex has represented clients in a wide variety of matters before different authorities. He has defended a major auto manufacturer before over a dozen arbitration panels of the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas. He has appeared before the Zoning Board of Adjustment of Pittsburgh regarding variance applications. He has briefed complex motions for federal and state trial and appellate courts, working in tandem with other attorneys to deliver the most effective written advocacy for the client.

Alex’s experience extends beyond the courtroom. He has co-authored materials for four different Pennsylvania Bar Institute courses. Alex also became a PBI faculty member in 2013, lecturing on the Voting Rights Act as part of PBI’s “Pennsylvania Election Law, Campaign Finance & Lobbying Disclosure” CLE course. Additionally, Alex has prepared advisory opinions regarding campaign finance and lobbying activities for different community and industry advocacy groups.

Alex was a 2011 summer associate at Cohen & Grigsby and a 2010 summer clerk for Judge Christine Donohue of the Pennsylvania Superior Court. Prior to law school, Alex worked as a litigation clerk at an intellectual property law firm in Washington, DC. While still in college, Alex worked as a policy analyst and legislative researcher for Representative Jason Altmire’s first campaign for Congress. After upsetting the incumbent, Alex joined the transition team and worked in Rep. Altmire’s Capitol Hill office while still in school full time.

Alex is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
