Immigration Bulletin – Employers Can Continue to Use the Current Form I-9 for Employment Eligibility Verification

AUGUST 29, 2019 BULLETIN TO ALL IMMIGRATION CLIENTS

On August 27, 2019, USCIS issued a notice confirming that, despite the August 31, 2019, expiration date listed on the Form I-9, all employers should continue to use this version of the form until further notice. The current/most recent and acceptable version of Form I-9 is available to employers on the I-9 Central website (https://www.uscis.gov/i-9-central) and should continue to be used even after August 31, 2019. USCIS will issue a second notification once the new version of Form I-9 is made available, at which point we will provide additional information.

As a reminder, all employers must complete Form I-9 for all newly-hired employees to confirm/verify their identity and authorization to accept employment in the United States.
