Cohen & Grigsby to Feature Pittsburgh Cityscapes Created by “Plein Air” Artists

Firm’s Art Gallery Showcases “City Views”

PITTSBURGH, PA – October 6, 2010 – Cohen & Grigsby, a business law firm with headquarters in Pittsburgh, PA and an office in Bonita Springs, FL, is pleased to announce the newest art exhibit to be featured in the firm’s art gallery – “City Views,” which will depict cityscapes of downtown Pittsburgh as viewed from the firm’s patio. The exhibition, which opens on October 20, will feature the work of Pittsburgh-based “plein air” artists.

Plein air is a French expression that translates to “in the open air.” It is used particularly to describe the act of painting outdoors. Though artists have long painted outdoors, working in natural light was especially important to the Impressionism movement of the mid-19th century.

“Our intention with the ‘City Views’ exhibition is to provide a forum for these artists to display their compelling impressions of Pittsburgh, a city that each of them has called home,” said Jack Elliot, president and CEO of Cohen & Grigsby. “We are pleased to be able to serve as a host venue for a variety of art exhibitions throughout the year, which provide a nurturing environment where artistic and cultural pursuits can flourish. It is part of the firm’s continued commitment to supporting the arts in our region.”

The “City Views” exhibition will be on display at Cohen & Grigsby (EQT Plaza, 625 Liberty Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA) through November 30. Those wishing to view the exhibition may do so by calling 412-297-4900 to make an appointment.
