Cohen & Grigsby Recognized by Lydia’s Place for Ongoing Support of Organization’s Mission

PITTSBURGH, PA – October 6, 2009 – Cohen & Grigsby, a business law firm with headquarters in Pittsburgh, PA and offices in Naples and Bonita Springs, FL, received the 2009 Outstanding Community Partner Award from Lydia’s Place at the organization’s annual fundraiser luncheon. The event was held at the LeMont Restaurant on Mt. Washington on October 2, 2009.

Lydia’s Place is a nonprofit organization that helps female offenders and their children in Allegheny County, PA rebuild their lives by offering a variety of support and counseling services. Among other initiatives, the organization assists women in addressing their addictions. Lydia’s Place also undertakes efforts to strengthen the relationship between incarcerated mothers and their children. In addition, Lydia’s Place works with offenders as they make permanency decisions for their children.

“Three quarters of the women that are currently incarcerated at the Allegheny County jail are also mothers to minor children. Cohen & Grigsby has consistently lent its support to Lydia’s Place, enabling us to continue our important work,” said David Blair, Vice President of PNC Corporation and Advisory Board Member of Lydia’s Place. “We are pleased to present them with this year’s Outstanding Community Partner Award.”
