Chris Davies Speaks at University of Miami School of Law Institute on Condominium and Cluster Development

Earlier this month, Chris Davies spoke at the Ralph E. Boyer 44th Institute on Condominium and Cluster Development in Boca Raton, Florida, sponsored by the University of Miami School of Law. Chris partook in an afternoon panel session, which explored the effects and issues of medical marijuana on community association operations with FHA and ethical implications. This area of the law is in its infancy in Florida, and it remains to be seen what impact the changes to the medical marijuana statute in Florida that took effect in March, 2019, will have on residential community associations, especially in light of the federal Controlled Substances Act, which still makes the use of medical marijuana a crime, notwithstanding new laws in Florida seemingly to the contrary.
