Many employers have employees sign documents which, to the surprise of the employer, are later declared to be enforceable employment contracts which alter the at-will employment relationship. Other employers intend for a document to be considered as an employment agreement, but fail to include necessary provisions or unknowingly include provisions which will have unintended consequences. This program will provide valuable guidance as to which employees should be offered employment agreements and what a well-drafted employment agreement should and should not contain.
Presenter John E. Lyncheski, Esq. is a nationally recognized attorney with Cohen & Grigsby P.C. He has exclusively represented management in all aspects of employment and labor law for more than 30 years. John has a prominent history as a national educator on employment laws and has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America and Chambers USA Leading Business Lawyers. A respected business publication labeled John as the “management labor lawyer to call in a crisis”. Presenter Lisa L. Garrett, Esq. has exclusively represented employers in all aspects of employment and labor law, including employment litigation cases before state and federal courts and administrative proceedings before state and federal agencies for more than a decade. Lisa is a noted speaker on the FMLA and ADA and regularly provides employment law compliance training for managers and employers.
