Firing Right! – A Primer for Effective Discipline and Termination with Minimal Risk

February 15, 2007

“You’re fired!” – the now infamous words of Donald Trump – sound like the simple way to inform an employee that his or her services are no longer needed.  However, in today’s litigious society, employers need to proceed with caution when disciplining or terminating an employee.  Whether for cause or for business reasons, each action is full of risk and, if improperly handled, could subject an employer to a lawsuit.  Attendees will be offered valuable tips to minimize the risk of legal action when disciplining and terminating employees and practical advice for effective administration of discipline.

Presenter John E. Lyncheski, Esq. is a nationally recognized attorney with Cohen & Grigsby P.C.  He has exclusively represented management in all aspects of employment and labor law for more than 30 years.  John has a prominent history as a national educator on employment laws and has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America and Chambers USA Leading Business Lawyers.  A respected business publication labeled John as the “management labor lawyer to call in a crisis.”
