Cohen & Grigsby Joins European Lawyers Network April 24, 2002Susanne Cook, chair of Cohen & Grigsby’s International Business Group (“IBG”), and the IBG have joined a select group of law firms in forming the European Lawyers Network (“ELN”), a network of law firms active in the global marketplace whose aim is to stay close to current clients. The motivating factor driving Cohen & Grigsby to join the ELN was the unique opportunity to provide yet another value-added service to our clients by networking with other law firms active in the global marketplace. Since its inception in 1981, Cohen & Grigsby has had an eye to the future, including the emerging globalization of commercial business and finance, and it has organized itself to meet the growing demands of an increasingly diversified international market. Joining the ELN is a logical and positive step in continually striving to further augment its staff with an international network of attorneys, through which we are able to obtain quick answers to international legal and tax questions at little or no cost to our clients.
The IBG is comprised of 16 attorneys advising clients globally on a wide range of international matters, including transnational tax planning and compliance, immigration, inbound and outbound mergers and acquisitions, U.S. customs, import/export controls, and much more. The IBG represents many foreign companies doing business in the United States and many more U.S. companies investing abroad.
