Cohen & Grigsby Attorneys Recipients of Prestigious Gibson Award April 24, 2002Cohen & Grigsby announces that two of its attorneys are recipients of the Gibson Award. Michael W. Hennen and Jill L. Locnikar were honored by the Bankruptcy & Commercial Law Section of the Allegheny County Bar Association as the 1999-2000 recipients of the Gibson Award. The Gibson Award is named after the late Honorable Gerald K. Gibson, former and longtime Bankruptcy Judge for the Western District of Pennsylvania. It is awarded annually to the law students at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and the Duquesne University School of Law who receive the highest award in the bankruptcy course. The awards were presented in a ceremony attended by approximately 100 members of the ACBA Section, all four Bankruptcy Judges located in Pittsburgh and members of Judge Gibson's family, including his widow. The awards ceremony covered winners for two scholastic years and there were six recipients. Cohen & Grigsby was the only law firm with two of the winners.
Michael W. Hennen is an Associate in the Firm’s Business Group and concentrates his practice on general commercial litigation and frequently assists the Bankrupty and Creditors’ Rights Group. He received his B.A. in Political Science and Criminology (Dean’s List – 4 years; President’s List; Golden Key National Honor Society) from the University of Florida in 1997 and his J.D. (magna cum laude, Law Review, Order of the Coif) from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 2000.
Jill L. Locnikar is an Associate in the Firm’s Bankruptcy and Creditors’ Rights Group and focuses her practice on bankruptcy, creditors’ rights, secured transactions and general commercial litigation. Ms. Locnikar earned her B.A. from Loyola University of Chicago and her J.D. (cum laude, Law Review) from the Duquesne University School of Law in 2000.
