Cohen & Grigsby Appoints New Litigation Group and International Business Group Heads

Cohen & Grigsby announces the appointment of Robert M. Linn as Head of the Litigation Group and V. Susanne Cook as Head of the International Business Group.  

Cohen & Grigsby’s Litigation Group is comprised of 38 attorneys representing clients in traditional commercial and business disputes as well as business breakups, antitrust claims, Racketeering Influenced Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) claims, unfair competition, intellectual property, securities and shareholders matters, and a variety of other complex litigation matters.

Mr. Linn, also chair of the firm’s Professionalism Committee, represents a wide range of corporate and individual clients in litigating non-compete, trade secret, and other commercial and employment-related issues.  Bob received his B.A. from Brown University in 1980 and his J.D. from Columbia University School of Law in 1985.  Bob, who is licensed in both Pennsylvania and California, actively litigates in the federal and state courts of both states and has been quoted and written extensively regarding trade secrets and related issues in various national publications including Fortune magazine.

Cohen & Grigsby’s International Business Group (“IBG”) is comprised of 16 attorneys advising clients globally on a wide range of international matters, including transnational tax planning and compliance, immigration, inbound and outbound mergers and acquisitions, U.S. customs, import/export controls, and much more.  The IBG represents many foreign companies doing business in the United States and many more U.S. companies investing abroad.

Ms. Cook, also chair of the firm’s Website Committee, focuses her practice on counseling companies on international and domestic business transactions, joint ventures, customs, export and licensing matters.  Susanne received her B.S. from the University of Pittsburgh in 1977 and her J.D. (Order of the Coif; member, Law Review), from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 1988.  Fluent in German, Ms. Cook is an adjunct professor in the University of Pittsburgh’s Translation Department, an adjunct professor in Duquesne University’s MBA Program, a board member of the University of Pittsburgh School of Law Center for International Legal Education, a technical advisor to the Regional Export Assistance Network of the Southern Alleghenies Planning and Development Commission, and teaches Legal and Tax – Understanding the Basics at the Global Trade Institute of Pennsylvania, of which she is also the founder.
