Cohen & Grigsby Announces New Firm President

July 22, 2003

PITTSBURGH, PA - Cohen & Grigsby, P.C. is pleased to announce that Jack W. Elliott has been unanimously elected as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Firm.

Mr. Elliott succeeds Richard R. (Chip) Nelson, II, who has served as president since 1999.  Charles C. Cohen, co-founder and Chairman of the Firm, stated, “Our Firm has continued to grow and thrive, professionally and financially, during Chip’s tenure due, in no small part, to his common sense and decisive leadership.  Jack has been an important member of our management and is well prepared to serve as the sixth CEO in our 22-year history.  The Firm’s management is based on successful business organizations, rather than the traditional law firm partnership and executive committee models.  This reflects our progressive approach to our own business, to our clients and to the law.”

Jack W. Elliott is a corporate lawyer in the areas of business counseling and governance, mergers, acquisitions and corporate finance.  He provides service and advice to a wide range of private and public entities regionally and nationally.  Mr. Elliott earned both his B.S. (Business, cum laude) in 1978 and his J.D. in 1981 from Wake Forest University.  Jack is a member of the Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, and American Bar Associations (Corporation Section, Commercial and Banking Law Section).  He also serves on the board of the Spectrum Family Network, where he is the past chairman of the board.  He resides with his family in Upper St. Clair, Pennsylvania, where he is active in many community activities.
