Cohen & Grigsby Adds Seven Attorneys

PITTSBURGH, PA - Cohen & Grigsby, P.C. announces the addition of seven attorneys to its Pittsburgh Office.  

Nicole M. Bodoh joins the firm as an associate in the Business Group, where she will concentrate her practice on general corporate matters.  She earned her B.A. in English (magna cum laude; President’s Scholarship Award; Dean’s List) from John Carroll University in 1993, her M.A. in German and English (cum laude; European Certificate of Foreign Languages-German) from The University of Duesseldorf in 1998, and her J.D. (cum laude; Alfred V. Papa Memorial Scholarship; CALI Award; Managing Editor, Law Review; Member, International Law Society) from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 2005.  She is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania.  Nicole has served as an extern with the Southwestern Pennsylvania Legal Service, a research assistant with Professor Jules Lobel at the University of Pittsburgh, an English instructor with Point Park College, and a corporate trainer with Global Team, Duesseldorf, Germany.  Ms. Bodoh resides in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  

Portia Lynn Miller joins the firm as an associate in the Litigation Group, where she will concentrate her practice on general litigation matters.  She earned her B.S. in Psychology (magna cum laude, Zeder Memorial Scholarship, Dean’s List, Golden Key International Honour Society, Psi Chi National Psychology Honors Society) from the University of Pittsburgh in 2002 and her J.D. (magna cum laude; Managing Editor, Law Review; Order of the Coif; Dean’s Scholarship; CALI Award; Barco Law Library Research Fellow; Moot Court Board) from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 2005.  She is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania.  Portia has served as an intern with Buchanan Ingersoll and as an intern with the United States Department of Justice Criminal Division, and she is a volunteer with America Reads Program.  Ms. Miller resides in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  

Tara R. Pfeifer joins the firm as an associate in the Litigation Group, where she will concentrate her practice on general litigation matters.  She earned her B.A. in History (cum laude, Dean’s List, Phi Alpha Theta, Phi Eta Sigma, Alpha Lambda Delta) from The College of William and Mary in 2000 and her J.D. (Comments Editor, Penn State Law Review; Woolsack Honor Society; Dean’s Scholarship; Miller Center Certified Public Interest Advocate; Student Bar Association Academic Advisor – Civil Procedure, Constitutional Law, Criminal Procedure; Co-chair, Student Bar Association Career Services Committee; Facilitator, Intergroup Diversity Dialogues; Vice President, Public Interest Law Fund, Women’s Law Caucus) from The Pennsylvania State University – The Dickinson School of Law in 2005.  She is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania.  Tara has served as a judicial intern with the Honorable George E. Hoffer, President Judge of the Cumberland County Court of Common Pleas, a legal intern with MidPenn Legal Services, and a paralegal with Morris and Morris.  Ms. Pfeifer resides in the Shadyside area of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Christopher R. Rodi joins the firm as an associate in the Business Group, where he will concentrate his practice on general corporate matters.  He earned his B.S. in Biology from St. Bonaventure University in 1996, his M.B.A. in Finance and Accounting (Delta Mu Delta) from St. Bonaventure University in 1999, and his J.D. (cum laude; Order of the Coif; Lead Business Manager and Editorial Board Member, Law Review; Phi Alpha Delta) from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 2005.  He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania.  Chris has served as a program director withCCS and as a director of corporate and foundation relations with St. Bonaventure University.  Mr. Rodi resides in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Matthew E. Shames joins the firm as an associate in the Business Group, where he will concentrate his practice on general corporate matters.  He earned his B.A. in American Civilization with an English minor (Faculty Club Student Manager) from the University of Pennsylvania in 1990 and his J.D. (magna cum laude; Editor-in-Chief, Law Review; CALI Awards; Dean’s Scholarship; Senior Editor, JURIST; Legal Writing Teaching Assistant) from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 2005.  He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania.  Matt has served as a research assistant with Professors Teresa Brostoff and Bernard Hibbitts at the University of Pittsburgh, an internet consultant, vice president of Interactive Ensemble, a programmer with Digital Mystix, a project manager with ShokT Internet Productions, and an administrator/developer with Excite (formerly Go Media).  His student note, “Congress Opts Out of Canning Spam” was published in the University of Pittsburgh Law Review (66 U.P.H. L. Rev. 385).  Mr. Shames resides in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Jason R. Suslak joins the firm as an associate in the Business Group, where he will concentrate his practice on general corporate matters.  He earned his B.A. in Economics (with Honors) and History (Dean’s List, Economics Honors Program, Teaching Assistant) from Binghamton University in 2002 and his J.D. (cum laude, Dean’s Merit Scholarship, Dean’s List, CALI Award, Academic Enrichment Program Fellow, Student Bar Association) from Case Western Reserve University School of Law in 2005.  He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania.  Jason has served as an intern with Citigroup Global Markets, an intern with Salomon Smith Barney, and a research associate with Innovative Energy Solutions.  Mr. Suslak resides in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

John F. Wingerter joins the firm as an associate in the Business Group, where he will concentrate his practice on general corporate matters.  He earned his B.A. in Political Science, German, and Russian (magna cum laude, Delta Phi Alpha, Pi Sigma Alpha, Notre Dame Scholar, Dean's List) from the University of Notre Dame in 2001 and his J.D. (Harry M. Bainbridge Memorial Scholarship) from University of Notre Dame Law School in 2005.  He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania.  John worked as a research assistant for Professor Julian Velasco of the University of Notre Dame Law School from 2003 through 2005.  John was a recipient of the Bundestag  Internship Program Fellowship, and served as an intern in the office of a German Parliamentarian from 2001-2002.  He also taught English during the summers of 1998 and 2000 in Poland at the Jagiellonian University and in Estonia at Tallinn Commercial College.  Mr. Wingerter speaks German and Russian and resides in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
