Cohen & Grigsby Announces Sponsorship of the Epilepsy Foundation’s 16th Annual Mardi Gras Gala February 2010Cohen & Grigsby is
pleased to announce the firm’s sponsorship of the Epilepsy Foundation’s 16th
Annual Mardi Gras Gala. The event will
be held on February 16, 2010 at 6:30 p.m. at the Westin
Convention Center in Pittsburgh
and benefits the Western/Central Pennsylvania
chapter. Lawrence Lebowitz, one of the
firm’s senior directors, will serve as a dinner chair for the event.
“We are honored to be a part of such a
long-standing, successful and fun event that benefits this important cause,”
said Jack Elliot, president and CEO of Cohen & Grigsby. “The Annual Mardi
Gras Gala is a great opportunity to get the Pittsburgh business community involved with
the Epilepsy Foundation and Larry Lebowitz is a wonderful ambassador for both
the organization and our firm. He
exemplifies the culture of giving back to the community that our firm embraces.”
The
Epilepsy Foundation’s Mardi Gras is a fun and upbeat gala which takes place
every year on Fat Tuesday and mirrors the celebrations of the New Orleans Mardi
Gras festival. The highlight of the evening is the entrance and crowning of the
“King of Mardi Gras,” a notable Pittsburgh
celebrity who has worked to help the Pittsburgh
community. This year, the Epilepsy
Foundation has announced Greg S. Babe, president and chief executive officer
of Bayer Corporation and Bayer MaterialScience LLC as the “King of Mardi Gras.”
“The success of our events, and ultimately of
our organization, depends on the generous support of businesses in the region
like Cohen & Grigsby,” said Judy Painter, executive director, Epilepsy Foundation
Western/Central PA. “The Mardi Gras Gala
is our largest fundraising event and we are pleased to have Cohen &
Grigsby— and especially Larry Lebowitz— offer their time and resources to this
year’s Mardi Gras Gala.”
