Christy Rothwell Joins Intellectual Property Group December 2007Cohen & Grigsby is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr.Christy G. Rothwell, Esq., as an associate in the Intellectual Property Practice Group. She will be based in the Pittsburgh office.
“Christy Rothwell has the unique combination of a solid legal background and deep technical experience in biomedical technology,” noted Christine Trebilcock, Cohen & Grigsby’s Intellectual Property Practice Group Head.“We are certain that she will quickly become an asset to the firm and to our clients.”
Rothwell most recently served as an associate in a small firm in Pittsburgh, PA that specializes in reimbursement of medical technologies, intellectual property, and research integrity. Prior to that, she was an IP associate in the Office of Technology Management at the University of Pittsburgh. She holds a host of degrees, including a J.D. from the Duquesne University School of Law; a Ph.D. in tumor biology/biomedical science from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.; and a B.S. in chemistry and medical technology from Georgetown College in Georgetown, KY, where she graduated magna cum laude. She was also a post-doctoral fellow at Harvard Medical School and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, where she designed an independent research project that focused on cancer invasion and metastasis.
