PITTSBURGH, PA - Cohen & Grigsby is pleased to announce that Anne M. Lavelle was recently elected as a Director (partner) in the law firm of Cohen & Grigsby, P.C.

Anne M. Lavelle is a director in the Firm’s Labor and Employment Group, where she concentrates her practice in defending employers in EEOC/PHRC lawsuits and advising and counseling employers and management regarding any and all aspects of labor and employment law.  Ms. Lavelle also counsels employers in the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, mandatory arbitration of employment claims, ergonomics, and non-compete agreements.  Anne earned her J.D. (magna cum laude; Notewriter, Law Review; Semester Honors, Fall 1993, Spring 1994, Spring 1995; Course Honors, Law and Economics, Spring 1995; Legal Writing Teaching Assistant 1994-96) and her B.S. from Valparaiso University in 1996 and 1993, respectively.  She is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and Indiana and before the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Indiana, and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana.  She has served as chair and vice chair for the Industry for Workers’ Compensation Reform and is a member of the Labor & Employment and Workers’ Compensation Sections of both the Pennsylvania and Allegheny County Bar Associations.  Ms. Lavelle resides in Gibsonia, Pennsylvania.
