Bob has been a civil litigation trial lawyer for more than four decades, representing clients throughout the United States, North America, Europe and Africa. He serves in an Of Counsel capacity to the firm and is a member of the Insurance Coverage Litigation, Construction Litigation and Product Liability Litigation Groups.

Experience

Bob has represented clients in major cases in the areas of insurance coverage,construction, product liability, municipal law, environmental law and patent infringement.

Typical engagements have involved representing the owner of a bauxite mining and processing facility in West Africa in pursuing business interruption and property damage insurance claims arising from a railroad train derailment and other significant equipment losses. These claims were litigated in the U.S.Federal Courts and International Chamber of Commerce Court of Arbitration.

Other noteworthy cases have included representing a steel manufacturer in defending claims resulting from aircraft engine failures and representing a primary aluminum producer in litigation with its electric supplier over the most cost-effective means of sulfur dioxide control.

Bob has served as a panelist for professional seminars and has presented lecturesat events not only in Pennsylvania,but also in other parts of the country. He has been a guest lecturer at the WestinghouseInternational Schoolfor Environmental Managers in Colorado.

He has written articles for the Cohen &Grigsby Review and for the Pittsburgh Business Times. In particular, hewrote "Courts Uphold Limit on Design Professional’s Liability" and "Using the ICC Court of Arbitration to Resolve International Contract Disputes"for the firm’s Review and "Enforcing Settlements" for the Pittsburgh Business Times.

He co-authored "Lose Patent Infringement Suit and You Might Lose Patent,"which also appeared in the Pittsburgh Business Times.
