Lisa has over ten years of experience helping clients strategically and proactively manage issues related to bankruptcy and creditors’ rights. She is a member of the Bankruptcy and Creditors’ Rights, Business and Litigation Groups.

Experience

Lisa’s experience in bankruptcy and creditors’ rights ranges from representing creditors’ committees to providing preventative planning advice to creditors. She has been involved in several of the largest bankruptcy cases in the region and has practiced before courts in Pennsylvania, Delaware, New York, Ohio and Illinois.

Lisa has extensive experience defending preference actions, prosecuting fraud, handling general commercial disputes, enforcing security interests and lien rights, and providing counsel for problem loan workouts, specialized collection matters and other secured transaction and corporate issues. Lisa has also handled litigation in state court, including corporate tenant disputes, fraudulent transfers and mortgage foreclosures.

She is fluent in Spanish and conversational in Japanese.

Additional Roles

Lisa is a board member and volunteer for The Midwife Center for Birth and Women’s Health and she co-hosts the Center's annual "Let Them Eat Cake" fundraiser.  She also served as silent auction co-chair for the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix Black Tie and Tailpipes event benefiting the Pittsburgh Autism Society and the Allegheny Valley School.

In addition, Lisa is a member of the Association for Corporate Growth, Pittsburgh Chapter.  She served as a member and officer of the Tri-State Chapter of International Women’s Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation and is a former council member of the Bankruptcy and Commercial Law Section of the Allegheny County Bar Association.

In 2011, Lisa was named one of Pittsburgh's "40 Under 40" by Pittsburgh Magazine and PUMP (Pittsburgh Urban Management Project).

Lisa is a member of Cohen & Grigsby’s Recruiting Committee, directs the firm’s Summer Associate Program, and trains and mentors law students and junior attorneys on interview skills and business development.
