Eric focuses on environmental law, commercial litigation and insurance coverage litigation. He is a Director in the Environmental Law and Litigation Groups.
Experience
Eric was a research assistant to Professor Robert M. Ackerman at the Dickinson School of Law in the spring of 2002 and joined Cohen & Grigsby later that year.
He was an extern in the Environmental Crimes Section of the Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General in 2000-2001 and an intern in the Legislative Research Office for the Democratic Caucus of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 2000. He was also an intern in the office of Judge Daniel J. Ackerman in 1998.
Additional Roles
He is a member of the Court Rules Committee of the Allegheny County Bar Association and a volunteer for the Custody Conciliation Project of the Pittsburgh Pro Bono Partnership.
He served as a member of the Board of Directors for the Alumni Association of Thiel College from 1999-2005.
Honors and Achievements
Eric co-authored "Environmental Disclosure Obligations for Mothballed Sites" for the Cohen & Grigsby Review in 2005. The article discusses the significant interpretation issued by the Financial Accounting Standards Board of a standard clarifying that companies must recognize, estimate and account for as-yet-unaccrued liabilities related to the eventual retirement of tangible assets.
