Curt Vazquez

Curt has more than 23 years of experience representing clients in a variety of commercial litigation matters, including consumer class-action defense, insurance coverage and counseling, and matters related to general liability, directors and officers, employer’s liability, employment practices liability, and property and specialty insurance. He is a Director in the Insurance Coverage Litigation and Litigation Practice Groups.

Experience

Curt joined Cohen & Grigsby in 2007, having previously worked at Jones Day in Pittsburgh. He was an associate at Cohen & Grigsby from 1988 to 1992 and a director from 1992 to 1995.

He was an associate at Holme, Roberts & Owen in Colorado from 1986 to 1988 and a law clerk in the Colorado Supreme Court in 1985-1986.

He has prepared a winning brief for a policyholder in appeal to the West Virginia Supreme Court on interpretation of "pollution exclusion" in general liability policies.

In addition, he reviewed and drafted insurance policies covering satellite array for a major telecommunications company and he successfully defended a "green energy" supplier in a class-action suit alleging false advertising argued before the Pennsylvania Superior Court.

Curt was a team member in the successful arbitration defending a former Pittsburgh corporation in an environmental dispute in Puerto Rico.

Additional Roles

He is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and the Allegheny County Bar Association. He is also president of the Western Pennsylvania Wheelmen Bicycle Club.
