Anne has devoted more than a decade to representing employers in general labor and employee benefits matters. She is a Director in the Employment Litigation, ERISA and Employee Benefits, Labor and Employment and Workers' Compensation Groups.

Experience

Anne specializes in matters that involve the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, ERISA, employee benefit plans, and mandatory arbitration of employment claims.

She has represented employers before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission. She has defended employers involved in TitleVII lawsuits in federal court and advised management regarding all aspects of labor and employment and employee benefits law.

Additional Roles

She is a member of the Labor & Employment and Workers' Compensation Sections of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and the Allegheny County Bar Association. In 2001-2002, she chaired the Industry for Workers' Compensation Reform and served as the vice-chair in 1999-2000

Honors and Achievements

Anne is listed in the 2001 edition of Best Lawyers Consumer Guide.

Despite maintaining a busy practice, she is a prolific writer and is often asked to give presentations throughout the state.

In October 2010, she presented a continuing legal education seminar on healthcare reform.

Anne also presented a seminar on HIPAA and Privacy to healthcare and related employees in Naples, Florida in 2009.

In 2007, she presented "Disclosing an Employee's Personal Information: What Are an Employer's Legal Obligations and an Employee's Rights" for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute.

She has also given presentations to the Western Pennsylvania Personnel Association, the Johnstown Business Council, the Leadership Healthcare Conference, the Allegheny County Workers' Compensation Information Exchange, the Industry for Workers' Compensation Reform, and the Western Pennsylvania Claims Association.

Her speech topics have included HIPAA, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, and the Americans with Disabilities Act.

She wrote an article, entitled "The New Reality of Retaliation Claims" for the Pittsburgh Business Times in 2007; and "Gaps in the HIPAA Chinese Wall" for Trustee in 2006.

Other articles written by Anne include "Should Your Company Care about the HIPAA Privacy Rule? – And Are You Prepared to Comply with the Rule?" for the Pennsylvania Health Care Association Weekly Reporter; and "More on Employment Waiver and Arbitration Agreements and Workers' Compensation Rights" for the Pennsylvania Bar Association's Workers' Compensation Law Section Newsletter.

Articles that she has co-written have appeared in Assisted Living Success, the Health Law Digest Analysis, Pittsburgh Hospital News and the Keystone-Pennsylvania Chapter of the American College of Health Care Administrators.

She has served as a source of information for many articles that have been published in Laboratory Compliance Insider and the OSHA Compliance Insider for Health Care Facilities.
