- Correspond and make telephone contact with clients, attorneys, witnesses, court personnel and other collateral contacts
- Responsible for file organization and maintenance
- Keep track of all deadlines, specifically deadlines for filing court documents and discovery pleadings
- Prepare various pleadings, such as Pretrial Statements, Notices of Depositions, Interrogatories, Subpoenas and other legal documents
- Interview clients and witnesses
- Prepare numerous cases for trial, including preparing witnesses, scheduling witnesses for trial, preparing trial notebooks and assisting attorneys at trial
- Secure reports from various agencies, such as police reports, fire reports, tax forms and medical reports; review and summarize medical records
- Review and summarize medical records
- Legal research including shepardizing cases, cite checking briefs, general research and researching procedural Rules of Court for preparing and filing of pleadings at times utilizing Westlaw and Lexis
- Prepare case budgets, calculate back wages and front pay
- Train new hires and temporaries
